Where valleys are lush with pastures new
Fresh and crisp, from morning dew;
There soil once sodden, with Soldiers blood
Poppies now stand, where soldiers stood.
Where birds fly high on freedoms wing
To greet this day, with song they sing;
There pilots flew a perilous sky
Poppies would sway, to wave goodbye.
When you held the heads of tearful eyes
They were not of men, but teenage boys;
There dying tears, for mothers care
Poppies would droop, in silent prayer.
See these crosses, amass of white
further they stretch, till out of sight;
For in this grave, is where I will be
where my Poppy, stands, to remember me.
