A BRIEF VISIT

You’ve pinched my tablet from my chair

To play your favourite game

You have your hands upon the screen

It will never be the same

Now your drink has fallen down

And spreads across the table

“Grand-dad quick, the power’s down”

“Please go and fetch the cable”.

You’ve eaten up my chocolate bar

You’ve eaten up my pears

You left a trail of mucky marks

As you went up the stairs

You sprayed the hand-soap in the sink

To get your fingers clean

The towel’s left with dirty stains

Where your “clean” hands have been

You only came for one brief hour

And boy we know you’re here

But we would never change your ways

We love you grand-son, dear
