RUM MAIDEN

A Rum Maiden in a raffle he gave a great big sigh
It is a must to try and win, to help an old GI.

He tried to buy a ticket but the seller wanted a snooze
See me in the morning ill have slept of all this booze

He left his eggs and bacon a fiver in his hand
The seller said come back again I’m playing in the Band

We know the secret really its plain enough to see
No self respecting GI would sell to an ex RP

But the story hasn’t ended and the ending must be said.
For the last ten years the rum maiden, has been here, right by my bed

This story isn’t simple, this story isn’t tall.
It’s just a yarn in order to help the GI s Ball
