Why can’t we learn?
We are after all nothing more but men
But sadly we will do it all again
We go to war which so many abhor
You often question what are we fighting for
This has turned into such a bloody war
So many dead the ground is soaked red
Fields of poppies will grow sewn from all the sorrow
For these poor lads will never see another tomorrow
Survivors will weep finding it hard to sleep
For nightmares will creep into their bed and straight into their head
For they will dream about all the dead
Their dying voices can always be heard
So why can’t we learn
And think of another way instead
For young people should never end up dead
