Nowhere Man

There is a long dreadful path of darkness deep
Where I believed; the devil my soul would keep
On army stretcher, I’m carried back to live
A sordid life; with yet nothing left to give.
My body and mind as only rack and ruin.
Sweet music, is heart monitor’s bleeping tune.
No more the joy and fun of Marathons run,
No more to handle an army’s killing gun.
For I’m now reliant on my kith and kin.
But never once in sight of God, did I sin.
