Man & War

I sleep here now in darkness
in my guilt of battles fought.
I dream of you my darling
and our life that came to naught.

Of all the little children
that were in our future plans.
I still see the house we built
Where on solid ground it stands.

Here I now sleep in silence
for my soul has flown the nest.
For I was one of many
That were made to stand the test.

Here I sleep in silent guilt
For war battles I have fought
And evil death and carnage
In spite of all God’s lessons taught.

We’ll meet again my true Heart
On a land of forgotten dreams
And there we’ll live together
Far from War and evil schemes.
