Built by man,
For heavenly flight,
Soaring, diving,
Out of sight,
Endless excitement,
Twirling bright,
Sent against,
The Hun’s great might,
Screaming down,
Out of the Sun,
Against all odds,
The battles won,
Bravery, death’s defiant leap,
Appointment with the enemy keep,
All hope and aspirations die,
From that skirmish,
In the sky,
What might have been,
Has now gone past,
A young life,
Was not meant to last,
Given freely,
Without a thought,
The price of peace,
Is keenly taught,
And we should learn,
From that cost,
To save all of us,
Many lives were lost.
