Christmas is cancelled and so is New Year,
We can’t afford any jollity here.
We’re stuck in recession, it won’t go away;
So no fun at Christmas or on New Year’s Day.
The presents we get have been purchased by loans.
No jobs to repay them, a threat to our homes.
And yet the rich bankers cash in on our plight
With money off shore, they’ll make sure they’re alright.
Wages are frozen while prices are rising
And anyone trying to be enterprising
Is likely to find that they cannot succeed
Because they are stymied by corporate greed.
The Government’s cut backs are hitting the poor
And being in Europe is costing us more
Than we can afford, so it’s time that the Nation
Closed down and went into Administration.
