And, when, I praised The Lord that night
To thank Him for this world of light
I heard a whispering of the leaves
And thoughts of love and becalmed seas
With all that would a child delight-
The flowers, the stars, that shone so bright.
And, when, I laid my head to rest
I thought how Life was truly blessed
And prayed for those who’d known such pain
That broken hearts might heal again…
