Eve of Destruction

Coquettishness at play, brings warmth of sun
Enticing of my heart with practiced guile
Bewitched in truth by trail of smoking gun
I willingly accept the proffered smile
All wariness succumbs to measured charm
Tho’ mindful that the hurt could cause one pain
By movement, touch and whisper, doth disarm
Engagingly, ensnaring once again
Abandoning myself I’m now in thrall
To one who bids me welcome with sweet lips
What e’er one’s hope couldst now somehow befall
Dismissed by sweeping movement of her hips
An apple once was offered on a plate
Perchance another nibble seals my fate:)
