Aw gather here tae honour oo’er wee man
Tis night o’ nights, we hail Scots ain son Rab
‘Bid welcome’ speech tae greet assembled clan
An ‘Selkirk Grace’ is pray’d afore ye grab
Wie ‘Cock-a-leekie’ starter tae begin
O’er ‘Piping in the Haggis’ odes are read
“An’ cut ye up wie ready slicht” (Dig in)
Heap’d neeps an’ tatties, roon yon innards spread
Dessert o’ “Tipsy Laird,” proves trifle strong
Fer young un’s who where bairns no long ago
Fond memories o’ Bard are aired tae throng
Wie toasts fae lads an’ lassies, tae an’ fro
Midst “Auld Lang Syne,” which ends oo’er Rab’s feastie
Runs;… “Wee sleekit, cow’rin, tim’rous….. beastie”
