A Loner’s Odyssey

When brinkmanship at times appears surreal
Collectively one Nation holds its breath
How many times again to ‘fudge’ a deal
Twixt neighbours who no more hath scope nor breadth
What people need or want, no more relates
As numbers now amass to call the tune
Tis debt one owes another which dictates
Not accusations where both sides impugn
Outsiders from their vantage points ‘implore’
“For those who have” to offer breathing space
A modern day catastrophe for sure
Should neither give nor take in saving face
Mythology perchance allows to dream
Yet life is hard, as lived (without a bean)
