No glib conversation
But I dislike a phrase
That’s sweeping the nation

When a presenter asks
If this thing or that
Has made any difference
In a program chit- chat

Then up comes the answer
That fills me with rage
From the interviewee
Who tries to sound sage

It’s ”Oh absolutely”
”Absolutely” again
Surely there’s someone, who
Has use of a brain

It’s hard to imagine
How much it riles me
That intelligent folk
Reply ”Absolutely”

So on one occasion
Just to please me
Could they refrain from
”Oh absolutely”
