In the Lion’s Den: The Troopers’ Psalm

Who walks freely for my sake among tawny lions,
I will remember him. I will hold her in my heart.
Let the sand welcome his footsteps. Let the desert learn her strength.
I will remember them. For these do I offer up my voice unto Heaven.
Urrah!

Lo, there shall the rivers sustain him.
There shall the cool waters give her comfort.
There the wind shall know them and bear them up.
Lo, there shall the sun have glory in them, in their glittering arms and their shields.
Urrah!

Who among you is righteous, she shall not falter.
Urrah!

Who among you is faithful, he yet shall find courage and strength.
Urrah!

May the lions of Babylon fear them.
Urrah!

Behold their terrible wrath!
Urrah!

Let my foes perish by his mighty hand.
Like ripe wheat under the scythe,
let them fall before her anger.
Urrah!

May the lions of Persia lie down before them.
Urrah!

Let godless men be consumed by his majesty.
Let them be cut down. Let them be crushed under her heel.
Urrah!

The lions of the mountain shall wither before them
and the lions of the valley shall be no more.
Urrah!

Their spirits roar in the face of my enemies and my foes tremble before them.
Urrah!

Let them strike hard against these enemies of my House.
Urrah!

Let the desert drink blood of my enemies.
Let the sands cover them forever.
Let them be forgotten.
Urrah!

Who walks freely for my sake among tawny lions,
him I shall remember. I will hold her in my heart forever.
Urrah!
