Jeff worked for some time on shift with me
Now and then we’d drink some tea

A Coal Plant driver now asleep
No more to drive upon the heap

No more reclaim or Coal stock out
Are you there foreman, he’d give a shout
He worked with me, in times gone bye
I remember now, with tearful eye
Crumpled hat upon his head
I now doff mine because he’s dead
May he rest in peace?
