Spread the Word

The simple joy of writing from one’s heart
May strike a chord with others yet to sing
Such words composed with feeling to impart
Through sense of sharing doth contentment bring
Suppressing thoughts to keep within one’s mind
Expression stayed in privacy and care
Reluctance to engage I think you’ll find
Hath been employed by all who would not dare
Yet still my friends I urge you to relent
Pick up thy quill and dip those fluid streams
Embrace the truth in order to repent
Inscribe upon the parchment; speak of dreams
Such wisdom handed down o’er countless years
Bereft of ‘Poets’ wouldst e’er touch our ears
