The Kuwait Invasion
In 1990 Saddam, the gangster knave…
The monster from Mesopotamia…the maniac…
Did Kuwait’s dominion and oil wealth crave.
But his invasion would soon be driven back.
For the thief of Baghdad made an enormous blunder…
While Norman prepared for Instant Thunder.
Refrain
Saddam Hussein did misbehave…
When through Kuwait his troops went swarmin’.
But the thief of Baghdad could only rant and rave…
When Stormin’ Norman did the performin’.
Desert Shield
In that late summer…by September…
Norman’s first plan was then revealed.
A great coalition he would form…
For the Operation Desert Shield.
The pilferer dithered and held back the throttle…
The monster had truly lost his bottle.
Refrain
Saddam Hussein did misbehave…
When through Kuwait his troops went swarmin’.
But the thief of Baghdad could only rant and rave…
When Stormin’ Norman did the performin’.
Desert Storm
The storm sent airmen off on high…
The Baghdad bully’s force to wreck.
The allied angels filled the sky…
And on the ground caused great havoc.
Soon the dictator’s ill conceived plans
Were buried in the desert’s sands.
Refrain
Saddam Hussein did misbehave…
When through Kuwait his troops went swarmin’.
But the thief of Baghdad could only rant and rave…
When Stormin’ Norman did the performin’.
Desert Sword
The coalition fought shoulder to shoulder…
And unleashed the power of the Sabre.
Their great advance grew bolder and bolder…
As the Republican Guard they did belabour.
From allied armour the mob had shied…
They fled bewildered and terrified.
Refrain
Saddam Hussein did misbehave…
When through Kuwait his troops went swarmin’.
But the thief of Baghdad could only rant and rave…
When Stormin’ Norman did the performin’.
Aftermath
Norman you truly are a hero warrior…
To the Saudis…to Britain and the United States.
Great indeed is your leadership…but greater
Is the debt owed and the gratitude of Kuwait’s.
It leaves only one thing for me to say…
We all should have a national ‘Norman’ Holiday.
Refrain
Saddam Hussein did misbehave…
When through Kuwait his troops went swarmin’.
But the thief of Baghdad could only rant and rave…
When Stormin’ Norman did the performin’.
