I saw my Mum and Dad today.
I met them at the cemetery
Where they are resting peacefully
And where I visit annually.
I tell them of our family
And what is happening globally.
I don’t know if they really care
Or even if they’re really there,
But just in case I say a prayer
And even shed a tiny tear.
I think of how things used to be,
Then walk away reluctantly
And hope that when my time has come
My kids will do the same for me.
