Unfurl the Sails

O’er howling winds I hear the rigging slap
Incessant chatter of a mounting kind
Within sweet solitude of sea doth wrap
Ensnaring thoughts becalmed to yet unwind
Belayed such orders proffered from above
In setting course beyond horizon line
Unchartered waters bid as one true love
Unfurled the sails to venture forth on brine
I’d anchored off some lone secluded bay
To take onboard provisions of the heart
Lest journey’s deemed forever and a day
By measured ounce ‘tis counted ‘fore depart
Should mermaid choose to swim on same wavelength
Wouldst then dive overboard renewed in strength
