Victim of Altzeimer’s

Your plight is recognised Oh! so well
But Children do not fret
For she is still there, the Mum you knew
So do not get upset
She may not comprehend what you say
In another world she may live
But all the love she gave to you
Is still there for you to give
For as we reach the twilight years
For some it’s not too kind
As all the lovely Memories
Become muddled in your mind
But patience is still a virtue
Even tho’ at times a strain
Always ever hoping that things will come right again
The sympathy of others
Tho’ little comfort or consolation
Is all that they can offer
As outsiders in the situation
I know from my experience
The tasks you have to face
To cover Oh! so many things
In such a little space
Of time which is always well filled
Multi tasking you do best
Which makes you so strong willed
And fit to face the test
So close your eyes and think awhile
Of the times and memories passed
And you’ll realise why you must go on
For life is going so fast
And I’m sure in my heart as I have trodden
The road that you tread now
You’ll find that super hidden strength
And you’ll cope some how
For a Mum is something precious
As everyone will know
Whatever it takes you’ll do it
And never let her go.
