What lives back there in darkness?
When you look into their eyes
Still marching with their comrades
All of which have died

The government say they care
But we all know the truth
The cut backs to the forces
Puts this country in a noose

We write to our politicians
But as usual they don’t reply
We are only Veterans
They don’t care if we live or die

We have veterans who are disabled
Some living on the streets
All because of military life
Some suffering PTSD

Treat all veterans with respect
Like you would like to be
Say thank you to a Veteran
For keeping this country free
