What is it that makes you feel alive?
Is it the rain on your face?
As it pours down
The cold in the morning
Or the sun on your back

The day your wife said I do
When you promised to always love her
Through the good and the bad
The highs and the lows

Is it the scream and holler?
From your newborn child
As they take their first breath
Or the look to your wife
As you thank her for giving you this new life

Could it be that time?
When you walked through a kill zone
Not even knowing a gunman had you in his sights
Only to find out later that night

Do you feel alive?
When your heart races as you go through your paces
Or the adrenalin rush when the rounds zip by
That section attack where you beat the enemy back

Or is it when you are at your end?
And think of the past
To ponder if you have been a good lad
And never really that bad

Only you can answer that question
Just remember this though
What ever it is that makes you feel alive
Do it with all your might
And never give up the fight
