Gun

Are guns bad? Are people totally good?
Any gun is only a mechanism,
Like a clock that sits ticking the ages passed
On someone’s Victorian mantelpiece.
The clock mechanism was built to give time
And the gun only gives ammunition.
“Ah but,” you say, “what happens when I fire?”
“What happens,” I say, “when I throw the clock?”

He who controls the clock makes the danger;
He who controls the gun is the danger.
Does he love the slow, ticking, aged clock?
Does he hate the sleek, deadly, aged gun?
Only Man is any danger to you;
He only wants some time: your time that is.
