Dreaming

As daylight ends
And night descends
The time is drawing nigh
For counting sheep
And go to sleep
In slumber perchance to dream
But once we’ve closed our eyes it seems
Not knowing the reason why
We climb a mountain
May swim a lake
Or sometimes even fly
We walk through beauteous gardens
Wander through woods and by streams
And even fight the devil himself
When terror rules our dreams
The night goes fast
With thoughts of the past
Of the things that might have been
A game in the park
Or a kiss in the dark
But it’s only just a dream
Do we rule our destiny
Forever working and scheming
Or is the answer we really seek
Relaxing and simply DREAMING
