Hand of friendship

The open hand of friendship
Is something widely known
An open invitation
That’s universally shown
To indicate to anyone
Of your inborn intent
Coupled with assurance
Of what is truly meant
You show offence to no-one
Without reason, without malice
For argument can soon flare up
And need peacemaker’s chalice
Disputes are often futile
And solve nothing in the end
But the open hand of friendship
Will gain another Friend.
