Left behind

I’m not going to cry
Or beg you to stay
I’ll just wave my hand
As you walk away

I’ll try to stand tall
As you board the train
And inwardly hope
You’ll come home again

Time passes quickly
As you well know
Quickening the days
Till you have to go

When you are sent
To some foreign town
Time seems to change
And slows the days down

But I will not falter
Or show my dismay
At seeing the train
Take my soul-mate away

No I will just smile
And wave you goodbye
You must never see
These tears in my eye
