Ode to Princess Di

by | May 26, 2010 | Poetry | 0 comments

On the night our sweet princess died
The stars, the moon and raindrops cried
Heavens in their deep sorrow mourn
As from this life such sweetness torn
That left behind a gaping hole
When our Lord took her blessed soul
The snowdrops and the willows wept
She closed her eyes; then she slept
Oh Diana! Dear princess such as you
God only made but such a few
No princess of the royal parts
But more we feel the queen of hearts
Now your eyes are closed in sleep
We pray the Lord your soul to keep.
