On friendship

The treasured things to have in life are friends.
Of all the choices one can have to choose,
How poor is life without friends…or friends to lose.
The value of true friendship all else transcends.
Forged in the fires of spirituality…
Born of the trials and pains of mortal state…
Shaped in the mould of love, and intimate
Design…the domain of fond humanity.

Each human kind will by their friends be known…
As the sun befriends the sky…the moon the night…
The sea befriends the shore…the day the light…
The life of a friend is greater than your own.
Of all the wealth and riches there are to spend…
The greatest wealth is in the love of a friend.
