I pin a poppy to my chest
I wear it with such pride
I wear it for the ones now gone
For those who fought and died

I wear it to say thank you
To those who gave their lives
To buy us all our freedom
Which in this land still thrives

To all of you who lost a friend
or loved one held so dear
I honour you as well today
And every single year
