The evening primrose

I would live a double life,

The Evening Primrose is my choice.

To live for just a time so brief.

Yet lasting forever, I will rejoice.

To see the look of wonder,

As children pause and ponder,

Ti see my tiny buds in seconds explode,

Revealing my flowers brilliant mode.

To live for just long enough to see,

One glorious sunset, one awakening dawn,

Before dropping to the ground, now free,

Knowing that dozens more will take my place.

Even when my flowers are gone,

I will live to help in human health,

Without thought of personal wealth,

Assisting the living, and those not yet born.
