I got a letter today

It was the first

Since he went away.

My eyes filled with tears

as I read the words

that my heart longs to hear.

He says, “You are the Love of my Life”

“How did I ever get so lucky to have you?”

“I sit and think, this wonderful woman is my wife!”

“You are supporting me through my dreams”

“I love you more than you will ever know”

“Without you none of this would be possible”

“I just want you to know, my feelings do show”

“I am here doing my job”

“Waiting to come home and see you”

“Kiss the kids goodnight and tell them that Daddy Loves Them”

“And make sure they know I am always with you”

I long to see him and touch him

These words only make me love him

All of this you see

is why this tear-stained letter belongs to me.
